Overview

Internal Medicine forms the backbone of patient care at the K.J. Somaiya Super Specialty Centre and integrates the various subspecialities of internal medicine.

The OPD treats 100 to 150 patients daily. Cases of infectious diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Enteric Fever, Gastroenteritis amongst many others, are efficiently treated. The OPD also has dedicated days for specialty OPD’s of Rheumatology, Neurology and Diabetes and we now also have a Cardiology OPD clinic thrice a week to add to a complete medical care facility service.

  • Emergency Management & Urgent Lifesaving measures like intubation and defibrillation
  • Ascitic and Pleural Tapping

  • Sugar and Oxygen Analysis
  • Round-the-clock patient care in the IPD by our dedicated team of physicians and residents, with beds in the teaching hospital dedicated to general medicine.
  • Adequate Critical Care facilities with fully equipped ICU’s in both the Teaching and Super-specialty wings.
  • Intensivists are present round-the-clock adding to the supervised-complete-critical-care-management.
  • Seamless and consistent interaction with all other specialties like Pulmonary Medicine, Radiology, Pathology and Microbiology for accurate and prompt diagnosis and healthcare.
  • Prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of common disorders like diabetes, hypertension, bronchial asthma, hepatitis, allergy, infections & communicable diseases like malaria, typhoid, influenza, etc.

  • General Hospital: 09:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
  • Super Specialty Hospital: 09:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m.
