Overview

The Department of Psychiatry treats patients suffering from diseases of the mind as well as sexual disorders. It is involved in treating depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, dementia, sleep disorders, childhood psychiatric illnesses like ADHD, autism, learning disorders, behavioural issues and sexual disorders like premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Patients having symptoms like sadness of mood, fearfulness, decreased sleep, hearing of voices, various addictions and scholastic backwardness are managed under this speciality.

Both OPD & IPD facilities are available with us. Outpatient clinical psychiatric services in the form of Daily OPD clinics are offered for patients of all ages with mental health problems, covering all subspecialty areas of psychiatry and behavioural health. We have separate wards available for both men and women. In addition to this, specialized programs for patients and their families, that is, counselling and group therapy (alcohol de-addiction, caregivers of schizophrenic patients, etc.) are also conducted.

Common Procedures Performed

The hospital is well-equipped to provide many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under this speciality like electro-convulsive therapy, narcotherapy, counselling, psychotherapy and psychological testing (IQ, personality). Various procedures like Electro Encephalogram (EEG), CT Scan & MRI brain are also provided to aid in quick diagnosis and early treatment which improves the long term prognosis.

• General Hospital: 09:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
