Dr. Pundalik Sonawane is presently working on a Professor and Head off Unit in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He secured his graduation and post graduation degrees from prestigious Seth. G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He also secured DGO, FCPS and DFP degrees from college of physician and surgeon and DNB degree from National Board Delhi. After post graduation he worked as registrar and Assistant Professor at peripheral municipal hospital and Wadia hospital and joined K.J. Somaiya Medical College and Hospital in year 2002 as Assistant Professor.

He has also secured LLB degree from mumbai university.

He has a clinical experience of 20 years and teaching experience of 18 years in field of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

In pursuit for his passion for gynaecological endoscopy, he got training at reputed Clermont Ferrand , France in year 2007 and has been doing advanced Gynaec endoscopy for last 15 years.

He has performed more than thousand complex endoscopic surgeries at K.J. Somaiya Hospital and other hospital in Mumbai with Special expertise in Laproscopic hysterectomy, Lap Myomectomy and Laproscopic adnexal mass surgeries.

Dr. Pundalik has been MUHS recognized undergraduate and Post graduate teacher and examiner and been a passionate teacher.

He has presented many scientific papers in various national and international conference and received awards for his papers on endoscopy. He has published research articles in national and international journals.

In addition to gynec. Endosopy he also has special interest in pelvic floor repair surgeries, infertility management, obstetrics emergencies.

He loves reading, photography, sports & music.
